For the S version it is all rather simple.

A power supply with a rating of 1 Amp for the 9V

and a supply with a rating

of 1Amp for the 5V will do.

In combination with the HQ power modules it is best to use a transformer over 2 A

For the N version you need somewhat more creativity. However the negative supply is not demanding at all.

Below the red line you see the considerations for the negative section

If you remove the 2 pcs of dc-dc converters from the display PCB the  S version becomes an N version.

At page 15 the hook-up of an N version pcb is shown.

Power supply support  (considerations)

Points to notice:

The 9V draws current pulses from the power supply.

The ground for the 9V and the 5V is best done at the power supply.

For the 5V it is advised not to use extreme large capacitor arrays.

The 5V for the display section generates the reset.

The positive voltage for the XO3 board is best taken from BEFORE the +5 regulator as long as the voltage at this point is at least 9V.  The X03 has it’s own linear power regulator

For ease of use it can also be taken direct from the 9V on the PRO2LF pcb.  It is confirmed and checked that contrary the statement of Tentlabs this way of working is OK for this specific version of the XO3 and this specific configuration. See job 7

It can only be done this way as all parameters are know for the total configuration.

In case of an S version

Here one can use as well two 5 V linear power supply modules. One for the CD-PRO2LF and one for the display PCB. This ensures cross influences from the display section to the CD section to be eliminated.

In the scheme below the power supply considerations are shown.

In case the S version is used no negative voltages are required.
