Some features of the CD-PRO2 LF
· Complete, assembled plug-and-play unit combining the high-performance Premium 10501 system with professional VAM1254 CD mechanism · Heavy die-cast metal frame for improved stability : robust and reliable design for industrial / professional applications · Same dimensions and fixation points as CD-Pro1 (VAU1252) · New solid turntable cone (removable) · Compliant with CD-DA (Red Book IEC908), CD-R and CD-RW discs · Can read finalized and non-finalized audio CD-R and CD-RW discs · New CD10 (SAA7324) servo-decoder for improved playability and reliability · Smart Disc Acceptance Algorithm (SDAA) to go beyond Red Book specifications · New “active filter switching” for start-up and playback modes. · Single and double speed playback to accommodate high-speed recording units. · Fast track access with min. successive approximation. Optimised for 24 tracks. · Easy control with the standard high-level DSA communication protocol · CD10 internal registers accessible via DSA for low-level customisation · Backward compatible with older versions : same electrical connections / communication interface. ( Not applicable to clock frequencies ) · I2S audio interface for external high-performance DAC or MPEG functions, IEC958 digital output (EBU/SPdiff), analogue audio output (DAC on board) · CFLG and V4 pin for BLER measurement and sub code information · CL 16 output available via special soldering islands at the edge of the PCB. · Applicable in horizontal and specified vertical position · Magnet clamping device available · New cover of ESD protective material · Wide temperature range · Prepared for a variety of approbation/safety standards
The usual audio software on CD-DA discs has a SNR of 98 dB max. The output of CD10 SAA7324 for CD-PRO2LF) is already de-emphasised, and then quantized to 16 bits again. This means at this stage, the theoretical max. attainable SNR which the DAC can provide will be 98dB. Measured operational values are about 97.3dB. THD at 0dB input signal will be -85dB; at -60dB it will be -35dB. For the best audio performance, the power supplies wires should be of AWG24 wire type. The PCB should be connected to 2 independent power supplies. One for the +5V, the other for the +9V. The ground terminals of the two power supplies must be connected at the supply side to reduce voltage drop or ripple over the power wiring. the ground terminals of the supply connector are not connected on the PCB !!
The CD-PRO2LF makes use of the AK4384 DA converter with a higher specification as the original used TDA1305 who was mounted on the CDM12 industrial and in other high quality units , CD-PRO and CD-PRO2. The grounding should be taken care of, same as for the older models. |
